Ferrule Bay Toledo · the collar, not the bore

Lesson or collar

We will not teach while the epoxy skins

People walk in with a slice and a cracked ring and hope both get solved in an hour. Only one of those is our job. The ring is. The slice lives somewhere else.

The split

A collar is a sit problem

If the ferrule is proud, shy, swollen, cracked, or the wrong color for the rest of the set, that is Suite 8. If the ball starts left and curves more left, that is a path and face problem, and no amount of nylon on the neck will rewind it. We will not rent you a bay. We do not own a bay. The lathe would hate the dust.

Marek has a polite version of this speech. Corinne’s version is shorter. Both end the same way: we can make the joint look like a joint. We cannot make a 7-iron draw on command.

When a lesson shop should send you here

  • The collar is frosted after a humid week and the student thinks the head is loose
  • A new shaft went in somewhere else and the ring was shoved on after the epoxy skinned
  • An iron set has three different blacks under daylight
  • A putter neck ring is proud enough to show in the address photo

When you should not start here

If the head rattles, the sleeve spins, or you want numbers on a screen, start with whoever owns that machine. Bring us the neck afterward if the ring looks like a hobby project. We are happy to be second. We are a bad first stop for a swing rebuild.

Still want the ring?

Good. Book a collar. Leave the lesson on its own calendar. The epoxy window is short enough without a swing thought in the room.
